Methodology
Counts cover owner-operated transport & logisticscompanies in Serava.AI's first-party registry dataset (5.8M+ companies in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Ireland), compiled from government business registries, licensing boards and public filings. The statistics are recomputed monthly. Snapshot date: 2026-10-11.
Average years in business uses known ages only, each capped at 40 years, and needs 100 known ages. Succession-ready = 15+ years in business; succession-urgent = 25+ years, both among companies with a known age. A long operating history is a proxy for a coming ownership transition, not a sign a business is for sale.
Owner names are on file for 45% of companies in this vertical. A person named in the US national provider registry counts only when the practice name carries their surname. A dentist, pharmacist or vet on a state licence listing, a permit or mailing contact, a registered agent or a name with a company word such as Inc or LLC does not count as an owner. Website presence is measured against the company record; companies without a site are effectively invisible to listing marketplaces.
